Tierra y Fuego Mexican ceramic sinks are handcrafted and handpainted by skillful artisans. The sinks are made of ceramic materials. Once the sink has been shaped with a mold, and dried at room temperature, it is fired in a kiln. Then it is glazed and decorated by hand and fired once again to give it its permanent and lustrous finish. Talavera ceramic colors and shine will not fade with proper care. We recommend NOT to use abrasive cleaners, as they may damage the glazed finish. As with any handcrafted item, our ceramic sinks will have small variations in color, design, size, and weight. Due to handcrafted nature of this item, a installation template is not provided. PLEASE NOTE: When installing the drain assembly be extra careful not to apply too much pressure, the drain hole may break.

Over the top, isn't it!?! I have a very old adobe home in New Mexico where the last bathroom upgrade was (not joking) in the 1950's. The Mexican tiles on the countertop are a shade of blue-green which I do not see anymore so I wanted to keep it but brighten the bathroom at the same time. The sink was perfect!!!Be aware, when you remove most existing sinks, the fact that this is a standard 17", you will probably have some issues with the extant hole. In my case, the previous sink was also 17" but the holes for the faucet and taps were cut into an exaggerated lip. The talavera sink does not have that. We had to jerryrig something to make up the difference but, fortunately, we were successful.
